SOAC South Orangetown Ambulance Corps
Community Outreach Community Outreach

The South Orangetown Ambulance Corps takes pride in the services and training provided for the community. In addition to the various Town CARE LINK Programs coordinated by our Corps, we strive to give the public an opportunity to learn more about what we do, how we do it, our community’s 911 and emergency services system and emergency medical services in general. It is our privilege to visit schools with our equipment and ‘Junior EMT’ program, offer Ambulance Corps tours and demonstrations, provide blood pressure screening events, attend health fairs and emergency services events for the public, sponsor blood drives, assist with the coordination of ‘THE LAST CALL’ STOP DWI Presentations at area high schools, sponsor annual community events in recognition of National EMS Week, and more.

If you or your organization would like more information about arranging for the Corps to assist you with or participate in a community outreach project or event, please contact our Training Division at TrainingDirector@SOACEMS.org or our Chief at Chief@SOACEMS.org. You can also call us at 845-359-3030.

Upcoming Events / Event Highlights:

BLOOD DRIVE: to be announced

Donating blood is a vital community service which directly benefits folks who need help.

The Corps Training Division partners with Blood Donation agencies and other civic organizations to coordinate and schedule essential blood drives throughout the year at our Corps Headquarters.

The New York/New Jersey metropolitan area requires nearly 2,000 volunteer donations daily to serve patients in our area hospitals according to the NY Blood Center. The center reports critically low inventory today of all blood types and platelets for our area hospitals. Eligible donors are urged to call 1-800-933-BLOOD and schedule an appointment to donate blood or platelets immediately.

The Corps Training Division can help you save a life at one of our Blood Drives. Please take a short amount of time out of your schedule and stop in to donate when the Drive is offered. For further information, please contact the SOAC Training Division by completing the information request card on the Training Division page, by emailing our Training Division Director or calling 845-359-3030
