The Youth Division of the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps is open to young adults, ages 15-18. The Youth Division provides a structured opportunity for youth to service their local community and experience emergency medicine firsthand. Duties of the members include riding on the ambulances as a part of the crew to assist the Emergency Medical Technicians with patient care, community outreach projects, house and grounds activities, participation in training and drills, attending monthly meetings and serving the community in various other ways. The Youth Division has experienced Adult Corps Advisors and their own elected slate of Officers. It is our hope that Youth Division members will continue their service to the community and further their emergency medical training and knowledge as members of the Adult Corps after they turn eighteen. The Youth Division is a great opportunity for area High School students to make a positive difference in their community and learn beneficial skills. The Youth Division affords a rewarding opportunity for students to gain an insight to the medical field and in particular pre-hospital emergency medicine and emergency management.
