SOAC Training Center

SOAC has been an authorized ASHI/HSI Training Center for over 20 years. Our instructors are all BLS level instructors or higher and have all been New York State Certified EMTs. You will be learning life-saving CPR and practical First Aid skills from individuals who have first-hand experience and keep current on the latest emergency medical information and skills.

All our classes include hands-on, instructor-led skill sessions, a student book, and a certification card valid for 2 years. In addition to CPR AED and First Aid, we also offer BLS CPR, a combined CPR/First Aid course, Bloodborne Pathogens training, and other training course options. While the majority of our classes are ASHI/HSI programs, some of our instructors are also certified through American Heart Association centers and can offer AHA Heartsaver and BLS programs on request.

We offer monthly CPR AED and Basic First Aid classes open to anyone in the community.

For groups of 6 or more, we are happy to schedule a private class for you.

Upon completion of this course, participants will know how recognize an emergency, how to assess an unconscious, unresponsive person, determine when to call 911 and when to start CPR. The course provides comprehensive, instructor lead, hands-on skills training for performing CPR on adults, children and infants, as well as training in the proper use of an AED. Rescue breathing and dealing with an obstructed airway (choking), will also be covered. Personal safety of the rescuer, disease transmission precautions will also be discussed. Classes run approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

This program provides the bystander or victim with minimal or no medical equipment to access and begin initial care for a person who has been injured. This class covers first aid for both children and adults. It is recommended for teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, childcare workers, teachers, parents, babysitters and anyone who desires to help in an emergency. The course included instructor lead, hands-on skills practice. Classes run approximately 3 hours.

This course meets OSHA guidelines and meant for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens. Ideal for healthcare workers, childcare workers, tattoo artists, health & fitness staff, security guards, law enforcement, fire service, hotel housekeeping, school personnel, home aids, etc. This course is offered for groups of 6 or more.
